InsomniaX Preferences Revealed!

Sometimes not all features can have a menu option, and sometimes old preference items can cause issues…

Below is a list of all the current preferences that can be set for InsomniaX 2.1.6, hopefully I can find a permanent home for this list but for now this will hopefully help some users.

To use the below preferences simply open the “Terminal” located in Applications > Utilities, and execute the below commands

Note: These should only be used by advanced users or by guidances of support, I take no risk in any consequences/data loss of using the Terminal and the below related commands!

Delete a preference : defaults delete net.semaja2.InsomniaX modelCheck
Set a preference : defaults write net.semaja2.InsomniaX modelCheck -bool no
Read current preferences : defaults read net.semaja2.InsomniaX

For more information on the “defaults” command, simply issue the command with no arguments and you will see the various options

enableLidSleepOnBattery Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Enables Lid Sleep when on battery
disableLidSleepOnBattery Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Disables Lid Sleep when on battery
enableIdleSleepOnAC Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Enables Idle Sleep when on AC
disableIdleSleepOnAC Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Disables Idle Sleep when on AC
enableLidSleepOnAC Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Enables Lid Sleep when on AC
disableLidSleepOnAC Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Disables Lid Sleep when on AC
idleSleepState Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Saved state on exit for Idle Sleep, true is disabled, false is enabled
lidSleepState Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Saved state on exit for Lid Sleep, true is disabled, false is enabled
saveStateOnExit Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Save sleep states on exit, these will auto resume next start
modelCheck Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Unless set to nil system will disable Insomnia functions if device name does not contain MacBook
CPUSafety Boolean 1 or 0 (True or False) Enable or disable CPU Safety system, this is used to prevent over heating on Lid Sleep mode
CPUSafetyMaxTemp Float Number in celsius Maximum temperature for CPU before lid sleep is returned to normal mode
