Uninstalling/Repairing InsomniaX
- Previous: Requesting help…

The most common ticket in the help desk regarding issues with InsomniaX or requesting instructions on how to remove InsomniaX, below is a simple step list of what is required to completely wipe out InsomniaX. If any problems exist after removing InsomniaX it should not be related to Insomnia as it works as a passive changing, in other words once its unloaded all changes are moved (Especially after a reboot any trace should be gone)

Where is the terminal where I have to write: defaults delete com.semaja2.InsomniaX.
I am a Switcher, So I’m not good at Mac OS X yet!
Click on the Finder, should be in your Dock on the far left. Finder is a file browser. With Finder focused, the OS Menu at the top should update, click GO > Utilities. The Terminal application should be listed in the Finder window close to the bottom. Welcome to the shell, and command line interface. It’s powerful, I’m still very unskilled in using it but it’s amazing what you can do with it.
On your Mac press Command + Spacebar this will open the Spotlight search in the upper right-hand corner of your Mac. OR you can just click on the magnifying glass in the upper right-hand corner.
Type Terminal in the search box, you will see it appear as you type, press the Enter key to run it.
If you’re coming from the PC this is similar to the Windows Search function in the lower-left hand corner in Vista or Win7.
The Terminal will look similar to a DOS prompt on the PC.
I have followed you instruction uninstalling the new 2.0 version of InsomniaX, but to no avail. Event though the program and all traces of it are gone from my system, when ever i close the lid of my macbook air it does not go to sleep. If I open the lid the screen lights back up instantly and the network connection never drops, so i know it is still awake. Then about 30 seconds later the computer goes to sleep even if the lid is completely open and I am using it.
I have tried everything to fix this including reinstalling and uninstalling the program. Nothing works. Please help me, it is very frustrating.
