With the requests of the MacBookPro version i have had to remove certain parts of the code and change a few bits here and there, just to make sure it works on all systems i present to you the beta that is not ready for prime time.

This beta has alot of known flaws such as the keychain issues and slow interface, but they are on the todo list at the highest piroty, below is a guide on how to set up the keychain.

Also in this beta the quit button is still there for emergency shut off if you encouter a bug, also DO NOT try to set the password it is very bugged at the moment

    Hi,

Got a MBP and when running the app it says “Your machine is not supported by this edition”. It then just has a “Quit” button. Nothing happens when moving the macbook pro. I’ve tried all three versions as well as the mbp version under rosetta…

ok thats odd that message should only appear on the other versions, ill fix it and upload a new copy of mbp

Selecting “Arm” from the menu throws up two requesters both saying:
“sh: line 1: /Users/thijs/Desktop/MultiAlarm.mbp.app/Contents/Resources/motion_mbp: No such file or directory (127)”

thanks a load for that last comment, saved me uploading it twice well i uploaded a new version and it can be tried now

    OK, it works now.
It is hyper sensitive however. Just breathing in its general vicinity will set it off.
Any way to make it respond to slighty bigger movements only?

Also, funnily enough it will start again after you click disarm, because the key-presses needed to type the password are enough to set it off :-)

umm yeh the mbp probally has higher sensitivity, but im not aware of how to change the sensitivity atm but i will work on it, thanks for trying.

    Any comments besides that?

Whenever I open this beta or the last one (on my iBook G4) it tells me the following error

sh: line 1: /Users/robbiet/Desktop/MultiAlarm.EBETA: No such file or directory (127)

It has a title of applescript error but what about tha sh at the start of the error mesasage

  8. Robbie Trencheny wrote on 19. Apr 2006

Oh wait. I had to move it to the desktop. But then it crashed. This is the error report

    REMOVED

umm very odd, try downloading again and copy the correct version into the applications folder

Ok sorry. Also can I get the applescript I want to fine tune stuff to send me a email. Also can we change the wav files to something else. One last thing about not being able to do the remote thing take a look at this. http://timmargh.net/2005/11/put_your_mac_to_sleep_by_sending.php
If you can make the app scriptable to arm, disarm, silence then you can use a “remote” by using your cell phone or just another computer. Thanks for making this a great program

I’m glad to see that people are using motion.c and especially when the product is released under the GPL. I took a look at the app and noticed that you do not include the source-code for motion which I think you should even though the BSD license doesn’t require it. Also, the license information for motion expressly states that programs using motion should carry Christian Kleins copyright.

  12. semaja2 wrote on 20. Apr 2006

The reason the copyright is not in the betas is well its a beta and i was planning to switch to a different system to check the motion.

Also as for the source code, it was never planned to be included due to the fact i would need to include 3 version, etc

PS. For all those that may ask, the source code it freely available just put in a support ticket and ill get to you. The source code it not open becuase it changes all the time, but when version 3 comes out it will be inlcuded with source

PSS. Thank you Pall Thayer for your level widget, lovely program and if it wasnt for your there would be no macbookpro version as i wouldnt know there was a motion.c for it as well as i needed your compiled copy

doesnt work for me, the alarm is not tripped when i set enable
    have iBook G4

Ironically enough, the Macbook version is from Randy Green, the iAlertU creator. I gave him a couple of pointers on how he could port motion.c but he did all the work. The compiled binary is also from him as the Macbook version wouldn’t compile correctly on my Powerbook. Thanks for putting up Christian Kleins copyright, he’s actually the person we owe all our gratitude to for originally creating an open-source ams/sms reader and freeing us hackers of the proprietary nature of AMStracker.

frest: Please use the support centre for help with it.

Atm the moment i have come to the conclusion the builds were screwed up, if you have troubles make sure the old ones worked as well
